Believe the hype: Aqqaint's launch event was a huge success!

Aqqaint started this journey two years ago.  We are on a mission to improve trust and safety for the sharing economy.  We proudly launched the first peer-to-peer exchange built on trust, on May 3rd, 2019.

There are $381 billion in items that sit unused in people’s homes.  These items could be put to good use. However, most of the time we don’t know they are needed or don’t simply want to loan them to strangers.

Aqqaint’s app enables you to connect with people you trust.  We then extend your reputation to your second-degree connections.  Creating a truly powerful network that doesn’t sacrifice trust or safety in the process.  So you can buy, loan, rent, or share goods, services, and reviews with people you know and trust.

Steve Garofano, Matt Park, and Nick Portlance, Aqqaint’s founders, couldn’t have been happier to share this major milestone with everyone.  These three are passionate about building stronger communities and a better planet.

Aqqaint Has Some Amazing Family and Friends

It was an unforgettable evening and it was in large part thanks to all our investors, family, and friends.  Aqqaint’s growing family made it a reality.  Each has provided guidance and support along the way.  It was great that so many of you were able to make it, some flying across country, to share in this with us.

The People Who Made it a Success

The team from Birch Event and Design did an amazing job coordinating everything, and worked tirelessly to make sure everyone had a great time.  We couldn’t have pulled this off without them.

My Snap Bash set up a photo booth where our all of our guests had fun taking goofy photos.  The props were hilarious.  Aqqaint’s CTO, Matt Park, joined in the fun (he’s the one on the left with the straw hat and ukulele).

The event was held at Half Smoke, in Washington D.C., and it was a huge success.  I’m sure it was in no small part due to the delicious mac and cheese bites and the attentive staff.

Additionally, we would like to thank Artisan Matchmaker for hooking us up with some great custom signage to help show off the Aqqaint brand, and Chris Delta for taking the awesome shots you see in this post.  He expertly captured the evening.

After everyone enjoyed the great food and a few drinks we stepped outside to enjoy hand-crafted Cortez Cigars.  So smooth and flavorful!

Where Aqqaint is Headed

We are moving full-steam ahead.  Aqqaint is steadily helping new members build trust networks and continually improving the product.

The team is developing a new Community feature.  This feature will make it possible for interest groups, non-profits, corporations, and other organizations to create customized safe exchanges for their members driving up retention and member engagement.

We look forward to changing the sharing economy for the better and would love for you to join us on our mission.
